Pilgrimage to HGTV Green Home in Plymouth, MA

"So, I was thinking..."  This is what I say to Jake with a special twinkle in my eye and a huge grin on my face when I come up with a spontaneous change of plans.  We were planning to attend a cricket match yesterday morning (there will be more and we will be there!) and then finish some projects around the house this weekend.  Sometimes plans must be set aside for later in favor of living in the moment and enjoying life as it is unfolding right now.  I love that my husband loves me and supports what we just have to do right now.  I love road trips on sunny days, satellite radio, and exploring new places.  Sure, we could have planned to go another weekend but what's the fun in that?

We grabbed our camera, filled up the gas tank, bought a late breakfast at Dunkin Donuts, cranked up the music, and hit the road.  We left the GPS at home for this adventure because this HGTV Green Home is located in a new development that isn't on maps yet.  Here are the highlights of the all highway drive (trees, trees, trees, Boston, trees, trees...).
11:16am Welcome to New Hampshire!
11:29am Welcome to Massachusetts!
Boston
12:51 Brief detour to search for a national landmark.  I said "I've never seen Plymouth Rock!"  Jake took the next exit and said he saw it in second grade.  We found parking easily and started our speed walking tour of Plymouth.  We saw what I called "a pretty cool looking ship."  Jake informed me that the pretty cool looking ship was the Mayflower II folks.  Jake and I had a good laugh about that.

1:43pm  Arrived at 2010 HGTV Green Home!  Armed with our camera and a blank SD card, we headed in for our 2pm tour.
1:44pm  I went back to the car for our tickets.
We'll be adding posts about the actual 2010 HGTV Green Home tour this week.  Have you entered to win yet?  The prize package includes $100,000, a 2010 GMC Terrain, and the house with all its furnishings, art, accessories, etc.
