Two Minute Resolution

For those of you who are realizing now that you never completed your 2010 resolutions or want an easy one to check off the list for 2011: Credit Card offer opt-out.

Almost all of the credit card offers that stuff our mailboxes are generated through the major consumer credit reporting agencies.  They makes lists of people that meet certain criteria, and sell them to credit card companies.

For those concerned that this is a scam site, it is listed on the Federal Trade Commission's website.

It is super simple and takes almost no time.  Doing it online will allow you to opt out for 5 years, or you can submit the form by mail to permanently opt-out.

So, whether you want to make a goal to improve your security against identity theft, or you want to do your part to help the environment, here is your two minute resolution.  Now we are one post closer to one of our own resolutions!
